Indigenous scholar Kevin White discusses the challenges and opportunities of gaining access to oral histories in rethinking Seneca and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) history. White also chronicles the process of preserving these histories and making them available within and beyond Indigenous communities. Redefining Narrative features the voices of five thought leaders in the cultural sector, followed by conversations between our featured speakers and MAAM Vice President Deborah Schwartz. This series invites viewers to explore new approaches to museums, as we examine fresh ideas about the pressing issues of our time and disrupt age-old formulas for what we expect to find in museums. Redefining Narrative is a project created by the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums and funded in part by Humanities New York with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
