Dr. Keren Rice Made Officer of the Order of Canada

Keren_RiceOn November 19th 2015, Professor Keren Rice was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. The Officer of the Order of Canada title is recognition of service to Canada and humanity has a whole, and an acknowledgment of a lifetime of achievement. Aboriginal Studies is extremely proud that our founding director has been recognized with such a prestigious honour. In addition to this esteemed title, Professor Rice is the Chair of the Linguistics Department and the Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Studies and Linguistics. She has been hugely influential in Slavey language revitalization projects, is an effective and dedicated teacher, and has produced an impressive body of scholarly publications.
