All prospective students must first apply to the University of Toronto Faculty of Arts & Science. Once admitted, students who have completed four full-course equivalents can enrol in the program of their choice. Students admitted to the University of Toronto can apply to have credits earned at another post-secondary institution transferred to the University of Toronto. Transfer credits are assessed after admission, once all necessary documentation has been received.
The University of Toronto encourages prospective students who do not meet the formal University application qualifications to apply to the Transitional Year Program (TYP). TYP is an eight-month access-to-University program that encourages applicants from all ethnicities and economic backgrounds to apply. The Academic Bridging Program is an access-to-University program that allows students who do not meet the formal University of Toronto admission requirements to apply. The eight-month program can be taken part-time or full-time. After successfully completing the bridging program, students will be admitted to Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto and will be able to put credits earned in the Bridging Program towards their undergraduate degree.
