Nest Meetings

What are Nest Meetings?

Nest meetings may encompass a variety of activities. Essentially, they create a sense of shared experience and community for all Indigenous graduate students. Meetings provide a platform for answering queries through informal discussion around topics such as community research protocols or navigating the thesis process. These meetings encourage networking with faculty, researchers, funding sources, program representatives and fellow Indigenous and/or allied students working on projects. It depends on who is attending and the topic(s) discussed. Nest meetings run for approximately two hours, and follow a collectively agreed area/topic for discussion. As well, meetings can include an agenda format, or may be led by a guest such as a faculty member, Mentor or Elder.
