Dr. Filiberto Penados Appointed to Centre for Aboriginal Initiatives
The Centre for Aboriginal Initiatives is pleased to announce to the appointment of Dr. Filiberto Penados as Assistant Professor Status-Only in the Centre for Aboriginal Initiatives. Status-Only appointments are made to allow an individual to participate more fully in an academic teaching or research program. Dr. Filiberto Penados is an internationally recognized Indigenous studies and education scholar. He is the founder of the Tumul K’in Centre of Learning, a Belizean non-profit agency that promotes the development of intercultural education and the integration of Indigenous knowledge into the curriculum. His research interests include decolonizing education, Indigenous knowledge, and Indigenous development.
