250th Anniversary of the Treaty of Niagara: Lecture & Reception

August 1, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In the summer of 1764, over 2000 First Nations chiefs met with British officials at a gathering in Niagara and entered into the Treaty of Niagara. August 1st will mark the 250th Anniversary of this treaty of peace, friendship and mutual non-interference. To commemorate the anniversary, Aboriginal Studies and the Centre for Aboriginal Initiatives are hosting a lecture and reception with Alan Corbiere. This is a wonderful opportunity to both celebrate and learn more about this foundational treaty.
